working out's a bitch!!!

SO I decided to put down the pint of Ben and Jerry's when I got home from college and start working out. I came home twenty pounds heavier then when I left and it (along with the pounds that plagued me previously) have GOT TO GO!!! So I turned on the tredmil, sat in the abb lounge, and dancer-cized with Suzanne Cox's "Firm it Up"... And now I hurt... lol. I got on the scale, I weigh more! Which could be muscle mass, but the number got bigger and that's depressing. All I can do is keep drinking these fruit shakes I make myself along with more healthy food and hope to god I'm doing these workouts right.

PS- if you've ever been on your Abb Lounge so long your stomach rusts in the fetal position due to pain and over exertion, let me know.

So anyway... yep I am a fitness freak now I suppose, though how long THIS phase will last only god knows. I have a worry though, I'm a clutz. I fell down the three story high staircase at my dorm in college no less then five times... and I'm a regular tredmil runner now? What am I thinking? Shouldn't I maybe start on a track where I'm the only thing creating momentum and nothing can shoot me off of a conveyor belt into a wall? Sheesh... I tell you it's dangerous. But any-who... anybody have any dieting tips for me? I am sick of eating salad day in and day out... help me!!!

Do some more research before embarking on any exercise program. I don't like running because there's a good chance that you will wreck your knees if you don't know what you're doing. Swimming is a much better choice.

No easy fix; eat the same foods (better maybe) but less of them and exercise more (find something you like), preferably with a friend. Good Luck and look for long term results

Ah it`s not easy is it? You don`t have to run to loose the weight just work out everyday at something that will build muscle.Muscle is heaver then fat so it may look like you are gaining. If you start doing some thing the builds muscle it will keep burning calories after you stop as to build muscle first you need to break it down.Thats where the hurt comes from but keep going.Just lifting a couple of heavy books evceryday will work you just need to keep adding weight to lift.Don`t give up,I know you can do it.
