Make Somebody Happy?

Seems like I keep finding more & more comfort in music these days, for whatever reason I seem to take comfort when I don't feel good enough for others, or when there's no friends around at the time I really need to just talk to one of them (amazing that how they shrink into invisibility isn't it soon as the going gets rough?)

Sounds like I'm a real sad case I know, but certain songs remind me of certain times & people, so it kind of makes sense to find the words & music that DO speak to me & I can relate to what the songwriter/musician was saying & expressing.

So anyhow, here's a recent favourite called "To make somebody happy", it's a shame you can't post the actual song to listen into but it's a gentle acoustic which really softens the heartstrings.......

"Feels like someone's put the hurt on me, and it's making me sad

Feels like someone's trying to turn me away, from the good times to the bad

Feels like someone's tryin to teach me what is wrong from what is right

Well I can't belong to everyone, let me stay with you tonight

And I hope it makes somebody happy,
Lord I hope it makes somebody happy

This river's hard enough for me to swim,

But there's nowhere left to hide,

I ain't no swimmer but I won't give in,

Til I reach the other side...

Cos it's all to make somebody happy.....

Fair Weathter Friends, yes, it is very easy to be there for someone when being there doesn't require much. It is said that the average American married couple spends 4 minutes in intimate conversation with each other a day. Intimate conversation being described as more than what will your day be about and the weather. Real connections of the heart be they with a spouse or a friend require a willingness to be honest and in being honest a willingness to love uncnditionallyh. Speaking the truth of the heart takes a willingness to allow someone to see into you - intimacy.

Yes, sadly things like honesty, personal integrity and accountability, trust, caring and compassion and just general all around decency are no longer valued. I think it directly effects our ability give and receive love as people which in the end love is everything
