Sometimes it really sucks being older

I just heard that a good friend here on AdultFriendFinder (withholding handle as the person doesn't want many to know) is not doing well at all. Seems we found out not too long ago one of those big diseases had come into life. Being a very positive person, this person hasn't let many know the true state of health. But I heard through another friend today that the person wasn't doing well and had hospice.

Being/getting older and having one's friends in my age range dealing with death just really sucks.

Yes it does suck. I am just thankful that I can live each day to the fullest. Time becomes very precious to us. But not to worry, as my best friend lay dying, He told me we would be together again and it would be just like old times.

That certainly is a nice positive way to look at it. It is just hard to see someone who was so full of life and vitality be absorbed by disease. But then, being in healthcare, I know that sometimes fighting the disease makes for such a poor quality of life, that "afterlife" is a blessing.
