Stickers, you know the ones that the grocery stores put on all their fruit and some of their vegetables.

I hate those little stickers. You have to peel them off and sometimes they get stuck, so your left with either cutting them out or eating them.

I know checkers have a hard job, but whatever happened to them memorizing the type of fruit or vegetable it is and looking it up in their handy book of prices?

In the old days those stickers weren't there. All you did was pick out what you wanted, take it to check out and the cashier knew what they were and if they didn't they asked you or someone else in the store and then they looked up the price.

I sometimes miss the old days.

Take care everyone. Oh, and Happy Mothers Day!!!

I hate stickers on things like mugs and bowls that go through the wash and get permanently fixed. I notice in the no-frills discount supermarkets in London they don't have stickers and the checkout staff actually remember all the prices. Ironically it saves the company money ....... so all this computerised stock control and barcodes might not be creating the efficiency people have got into the habit of thinking.

Give me a good old open market with stalls, like we still have in London and other towns in Britain. You can even haggle the price and the produce is always so much fresher than the supermarkets ..... and not a sticky label in sight.
