Face Value

I read a blog a few days ago that put all women into 3 groups. It ticked me off. Here was another woman limiting herself and every other woman to her perception of them.

I commented on her blog by telling her that I didn't fit into just one of her 3 groups but to all 3 of them.

But I really am more than what she had down. Aren't we all?

I don't wear makeup because I don't like it for starters and I am also allergic to a lot of it.
I can't wear eye makeup because I makes my eyes itch and why bother anyway. I know it makes your eyes stand out better and you may think it makes you prettier, but what is wrong with the way you were born. Bare and naked and who you really are without the added goop.

I don't fix my hair very often either. I keep it short because I am allergic to it, and my head and neck area where it touches breaks out. But also because the wind blows all the time whats the use. Unless you plaster it down with a bottle of hair spray it is not going to stay put.

I like the natural look anyway. It is more attractive to me. It is who I am. Natural.

I do wear clean clothes with as few spots on them as possible, but my line of work makes that hard sometimes. I also am a clean person. A shower or 2 a day depending on the weather is what I am into.

I also am a jeans person. I much prefer that too anything else, and because I have foot problems (tender feet) I always wear comfortable shoes.

Long ago, when I was young and wanted to "fit in", I wore the 3 inch heels, the dresses, the makeup and I talked the talk. I don't have to do that anymore but it doesn't make me less of a person now.

Please accept people for whats inside of them not for what they look like and don't put us all into small categories. If you do you will always be disappointed.

Take care everyone

Dearest kat, you have a real talent for being unapologetically yourself. It is a real and admirable quality I just wish more people had.

warm xx
