Am I wrong going for a Job interview ??

Well yesterday a bank contacted me asking me if i wanted a new job.
I thought to my self that "No not really" but it is always nice to be asked. However by the end of the conversation on the phone she convinced me into taking an interview.
I don’t know why I have agreed as I know that the bank will not be able to meet the great pay and package I get from the company I work at now.

At the moment the company i work for pays me 14 months wages.
This means extra months wage every June and every November.
50% of my pension,
50% of my health insurance,
100% of my internet,
100% of my telephone
100% of my auto fuel
I get a new sports Car every 4years
28days + 13 days holiday per year
Mobile phone,
and €60000 after tax

I have already been told that they will not give me an auto so I will have to ask for at least €65000 after tax a year so I can replace the Car with my own lease auto.

So really I’m only going for a confidence booster in my job and me.

I think this is the very first vain thing I have ever done. I have always looked after others and never thought of the money..

Am I wrong???

welcome, and good luck

the only thing i'd be worried about is if your current job would be upset at you going for the interview should they find out.

Thanks for the comments,

I do think they would be a bit pissed since I have only been with them for the past 6 months.

And I do know it is wrong, but due to living at the end of the world (Den Helder) a few years back then loosing my job, I had a big kick in the slats when I couldn’t find a job for over 8 months because of where I lived. So I think that this is more of a confidence boosting thing for me… Wow I think I am insecure…. That is strange.

I think also it is interesting to find out what your worth to society is. I know I will not be missed except by my friends, but it is nice to know that you are needed.

I think that I need this as I spent 9 out of my 11 years in the military in combat and I have never had to deal with “Am I needed” I always knew I was needed in the military. But being in Civvie Street has turned my whole life around.

Well I will post how it went in a while as I need to go and get ready.

But you know the ironic thing is.. my company now is paying for me to go to the interview…
Again thanks for all your comments

Well I have done the interview and i feel that i am cheating them... is this guilt?? i dont know. They have offered me more money to compensate for the auto and they are willing to pay for 30% of my mortgage... how weird...

I still don’t know if i want to do it... i need to go for my second interview next Wednesday.

Wow if I go for this I will be able to travel the world with out any financial problems…. God life Is great…. All I need now is a lovely girl…. Im not to sure really still of what really want.

Do I go for the money and 3 months probation period or do I stay with my job now where I am in full employment and have no chance of getting sacked….

I could lose every thing…
