Wedding season

Summer...the lovely weather, trips to the beach, camping, barbeques, cold beer, and fun with friends.

What's not to like besides the humidity?

Well, it's wedding season. Most of my friends are already married (some of them more than once), and most of my high volume wedding-attendance-summers have come and gone.

While I enjoy sharing a joyous occasion with friends, as I get older I find I'm less and less anxious to attend weddings that don't have me playing the role of Groom. Such a wedding has never come to pass as I've never been married.

As enjoyable as weddings can be, it can be a bit vexing too, as I look at back at the serious relationships of my past and wonder what could have been, and, being unattached, what might or may never be. I find this to be true more for the weddings of friends than for family members.

I'll be attending a wedding reception as a date this weekend, and I won't know hardly anyone there. I'm thinking it'll be a good time, I'll meet some new peeps, and hopefully have some fun.

Fire Quote of the Day:
“Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.”
-Bruce Lee

Wish I could say I I knew what you were talking about. I've attended one wedding in ten years. Most of my friends eloped, lol.

lol..I'm thinking if I ever do get married, I'd like to do it right and have a real wedding. I want it to be something memorable.
