Serenity Now

I am busy enduring a journey of self discovery. I am learning what creates stress in my life. I am having to wear a stress monitor a la Frank Costanza in one of the Seinfeld episodes.

I never realized what a highly strung little git I have turned out to be. I am just a little princess, I tell you.

I just about broke the monitor yesterday when Spurs let in a very late goal to blow their win against West Ham. That's right, football on TV sets it off. Spurs football about blows the monitor up.

Who knows what will happen when England plays in the World Cup. I'd better get a defibrillator and an oxygen tank ready.

I got a call from my sister to tell me all about the latest issues in her life and beep, beep, beep. My aunt calls: beep, beep, beep.

But what was the thing that set it off the most? Filling out the fucking journal recording what set off the beeper.

hi saddle tramp, I always thought that I was a mellow dude. I have found out that I internalize stress and hold everything in.

As for the monitor - it needs to go.

Just be glad you weren't having to sell computers over the phone.

I hope you're feeling better, and I hope you're feeling good.

You're only forty two years old!
I'm sure you don't smoke.
History of heart problems in the family?
I bet it was that job.
Are you outta there yet?
I prescribe fishing and yoga, maybe weightlifting-that involves a lot of meditation and stress reduction.
I'm glad you're back.
I missed you.

Hi Jay, I missed you too.

Nope, I don't smoke (never have).
I ran a 5:30 mile three days before the heart attack.
I eat a healthy, well balanced diet.

But, yes, there is a history of heart problems in family (my dad celebrated July 4th with a heart attack of his own).

And as for being done at my job, officially I am supposed to be terminated, laid off, made redundant, downsized, or whatever else is the word du jour for getting kicked to the street on Friday. I have to find out how being on long term sick leave affects getting out of there.

Hi Humboldthonni,

How are you?

I do get to learn some self-preservation practises such as tai-chi, yoga and I am going to meet with a therapist to learn self-help techniques for stress management.

Hi liblonde,

Unfortunately, getting horny hasn't really been that much of a problem of late - although the feelings, they are a returning and it was really embarrassing and I am going to share it with the world shortly.
