Do Chinese women read blogs?

I'm planning to spend a few weeks in Beijing and would love to meet some new people unconnected with work.

However, it seems that Chinese women don't write or comment on blogs. Contactingmainland Chinese women through this site seems as hard as free-climbing. Am I right? If I am, why is that?

If you're the type of woman who's extremely reluctant to make contact through this site, don't worry. I'm relaxed, easy-going and have no expectations. So use the blog to make an initial contact.

See you before it gets too hot and dusty.

You should remember that only the major cities in China have Internet, and that the content people are allowed to read is exceptionally restricted.

Hi nightstogether,

Thanks for your comment. However, I suspect your comment is unduly influenced by the US media. The major cities probably account for more people than live in the US, and virtually 100% of the people I'd be interested in, or able to meet. When I travel in China I can dial up an ISP, usually free, with ease. Whilst I agree that some sites might be blocked for content, frankly they would not be sites you or I would be interested in.

So what is the real reason?

In particular if you read my posting on Down Low in Beijing it is an issue that ought to be of great concern to Chinese women, but not a single comment. Why?
