Football picks for jan 14th/15th

Ok...here's the line ups and here's who I'm picking...

Sat Jan 14th 4:30pm est:

Washington Redskins vs Seattle Seahawks

My pick: Seahawks

No real reason...that's just my pick.

Sat Jan 14th 8pm est:

New England Patriots vs Denver Broncos

My pick: Broncos.

Reason...I'm sick of the Patriots and Tom Brady. Let someone else go to Superbowl for a change (stupid cocky ahole..... er..ummm...) Yeah...anyway...I'd just rather someone else get to go than them again. Normally, I wouldn't pick Broncos. But...don't have much of a choice.

Sun Jan 15th 1pm est:

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Indianapolis Colts

My pick: Colts

Reason...I just did not like how the Steelers played at all. I like watching when there is sportsmanship and the players play "nice" not all immature and getting in one anothers faces and fighting constantly. I've had people say, "That's football" and I call BS on that. I've watched quite a few games this season, and that is the only one I saw where there was so much fighting and disrespect. I watched plenty of games where opposing teams would help each other up and give pats on each others backs and whatnot. And don't say it's cuz it's the playoffs...because I watched a couple of other playoff games and they weren't acting like that!

Anyway...Colts

Sun Jan 15th 4:30pm est:

Carolina Panthers vs Chicago Bears

My pick: Panthers

Reason...ya know...I had this gut feeling that the Panthers were going to slaughter my honeys Giants..but I had to go with the Giants anyway (what?!? I didn't want him all peeved at me! )

Reading the quick stats of both teams, I see that the Bears are going to have more going for them. But...this is where my whole, "I pick teams based on mascots" comes in. I love cats. And the Panther is my favorite big cat...and I've never really liked the Bears anyway. Yes, they may get their asses kicked because the Bears will have several advantages over them...but, you just never know... and even if they don't win, doesn't matter. That's my pick (and I'm sure my hon is going to be very miffed that I'm picking the team that kicked his teams ass...but hey, it was their fault too...their defense was horrible...Eli was WAY too nervous...Giants could have done MUCH better)

And there ya go! My Football picks for the upcoming weekend.

Comments?? Feel free to leave them

Excuse me, but I beg to differ with you on Tom Brady being a "stupid cocky ahole". You must be thinking of someone else, because Tom Brady is about the most down-to-earth, laid back, normal, everyday kinda guy that the NFL has to show as far as quarterbacks. He is confident in his abilities - yes. But that's a far cry from being cocky. Please don't confuse the two. He's a talented quarterback, with a talented team that has alot of heart, and an incredible coach.

The Patriot Nation waited a looooooong time to see our team win the Super Bowl. Everybody is always putting down the Patriots - they never get any respect. Even after winning three out of the last four superbowls, they get no respect.

So, please, don't call our quarterback nasty names just because he's good at what he does.

Thanks.

Lusty

eh, I still say he's a cocky ahole. Can just see it in his face when he's on the field. And I'm not the only one that thinks that.

Like I said, time to let another team have a shot. Three in a row is plenty enough.

Out of the ones left, I'd like to see maybe something like The Colts and Panthers .. or hell, let the Patriots go and then get slaughtered by Manning and the rest of the Colts. That would be a good game. But, I say block the Pats completely from going. Yep yep.

And honestly....hehehe...I could really care less. Only team I was even remotely interested in is no longer in the running...so, eh *shrugs*

alrighty... I would agree with you on the colts. It is time for Payton Manning to get to the superbowl, but if they play as bad as they have been: watch out.
The steelers won, I think becuase they took out Carson Palmer in the first quarter. Bengals had alot going with that QB.

I would have to go for the Bears. Defense is way to strong for carolina. Beat them earlier this year too.

mmm Redskins over the seahawks.. redskins are underdogs and when was the last time they were in the playoffs.

I hate the broncos and the Patriots. but I cannot another Super Bowl with the Pats... yuck picking Bronco's.

Last but not least.. Giants did alright just no offense. They did better than my team which is the 49ers.. ya I know 4-12 for the season.. come on NFL draft season.

I think hubby would disagree with you z about the skins beating the seahawks. Way he's been going on, Seahawks have better stats, plus their home field...and other stuff he went on about.

As far as my picks go...I just go by mascots and stuff. I know that the Panthers are probably going to get slaughtered by the Bears, because I read some of the stats and advantages for the Bears...but I don't care. I like cats...so the Panthers it is.

And I knew I wasn't the only one that felt that way about the Pats. Hell, everyone at hubby's work feels the same damn way. Get em out of there already.

Oh..and hubby was telling me something about how in the bowl, it's the NFC against the AFC..some shit like that. So something about the Pats and the Colts wouldn't be teamed against one another since they're both AFC. See...I really don't know all that much about the sport. Usually just watch a few games a year and then of course the S.B. but...been watching more this season.

Ya your hubby is right it is always been afc against the nfc. There is nothing wrong with not knowing much about football.. Pats and Colts have played each other for the final playoff game before in which the Pats spanked the colts. I do not want that again. The more you watch football, the more you will catch on too... you could even watch NFL Europe. who knows... my GF isn't into football so your husband is lucky that you are
