Why am I here? (a little about me)

When I first arrived, the short answer was easy... SEX. Now, after a couple of weeks of watching and commenting on a couple of blogs I’ve found very interesting {Thanks B}, and some changes in my personal life this week, I’m not so sure.

As a married man of almost 19 years with 2 teens in the house, I’ve been blessed most of my life. My marriage is in no way perfect and as a matter of fact has been the equivalent of falling off a cliff onto jagged, razor sharp rock for some time now. But I stay, because I love her, because I’ve committed to her, because if we could fix a few things, everything would be perfect. Our problems, you ask… sex of course. I won’t bore you with details, but let’s just say between abuse as a child and extreme health issues better suited for someone of retirement age or long after, sex is a problem for me wife. As a result, sex has become an issue for me. It’s not always been this way, but as time has passed without counseling and the different medical issues arise over the 19 years, it has gotten worse. Suffice it to say, that if you look at your hands and count your fingers, I promise you have more digits, than I’ve had sex in the past 18 months. The problems stretch further than that, but I’ve made my point.

So here I am, nosing around most likely asking for trouble and trying not to look for it (oxymoron?). After the first couple of blogs to let you know who I am, I’ll probably settle in to some insights and musings from my perspective just as most of the blogs around here do. I hope you visit often and find my writing interesting and/or amusing. As far as the sex goes, who knows? If it happens great, if not, oh well. I’ll still have made a few friends along the way.

Cheers,
-D

You're in a tough spot...wanting satisfaction and not wanting to hurt anyone...my issues are different but the road is the same. I've posted different things about being abused as a kid, my relationship with my wife etc...

Long story short...welcome to the blogs and I hope you find what you seek or at least learn what that is.

Welcome to the blogs! This is a great to journal your thoughts....and I think you'll find acceptance here. You don't have to agree with everyone.....nor they with you. But you're a good writer....and I think others will see that too. I hope you'll stop by my blog sometime and say hello!

Consider me one of the friends you've made along the way so far!! I'm glad to have been the match to light this fire under your butt!! And I hope you too find in this place what I've found...friendships, laughs, entertainment and most of all, I've found myself!! -B

reading this after i read the other so my comments are flavored by that

i am not here for sex - i have all that i coudl possibly desire in that arena - but BPB made a comment that struck me as pertinent - she said here, sex is the opiate of the masses.

writing about sex or joking about it - well, it's fun and it's an easy way to get started - and to find people to read you -

in the end, how you frame your blog, what you discuss and how you discuss it will define who keeps coming back. your call.

i love reading the sexy blogs - and i find them very revealing of the person - grins

but a blog that speaks to the heart - like your other post - now that will make me come back

enjoy - this is a very interesting ride!

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

Thank you all for you comments. My first lesson on Blogging is that standard members can't respond to individual posts, so please allow me to thank one and all for their insights and support.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm actually thinking of writing a bit of both. The "insights" definately indicate I'm leaning more on the mind and heart side, but a little fun is always necessary to keep it light I think. Thanks for coming by and I'm finding your blog interesting as well.
