You're Kidding, Right?

Happy Sunday, all!

I hope everyone's having a great day so far. It's a beautiful day here in my part of Murrland, so I'm going to go out and enjoy it. I'm not sure what I'm doing yet, but a mountain drive is looking like a really good idea. It's going absolutely gorgeous soon. Fall colors - yay!

Anyway, now that I've probably bored you, I'll hopefully entertain you a little with the following email that I received this morning.

Behold!

like to meet you if you ever doun this way distince is good no one well no. hope to hear back from you .

Yep. That's it.

I checked his profile and he has filled out the bare minimum of information allowable. Between that and this email there's nothing that makes me want to respond.

This gentleman lives about thirty miles away from me, so I figure if he was really interested, he could get up MY way. Hell, even make an offer to meet halfway. LOL

I'm amazed at the men that will ask me to come meet them on their "turf", whether it be in their neighborhood or the hotel room they happen to be in. Nuh-uh. I will only do that after I'm comfortable with someone.

Being a woman that doesn't know much in the way of martial arts, I am vigilant about safety. I will never put myself in a situation where I'll be at a disadvantage.

I'm not saying that every guy that emails me is a potential ax-murderer, but there are other considerations. What if I get lost in an area I'm not familiar with? What if I get mugged (or worse)?

As for the grammar, spelling and punctuation, let's let them stand on their own merits, shall we?

He can't have read my profile because he's a smoker and that is a no-no in DCE's world. My little blurb about preferences says that that I dig tall, non-smoking, circumsized men. I get some emails that say, "I know I don't meet your (fill in requirement here), but..."

But nothing. I want it all, baby. I've had it before and I can have it again. I'm not in any rush. Clearly. LOL

I realize smokers have rights and all that good stuff, however, I made a choice not to do it and I avoid being around smoke whenever I can.

I didn't take up smoking because it would eat into my manicure and shoe budget. Not to mention the allergies. Smoke near me and my sinuses close up like a bank vault.

Sorry, Smoking Dudes. I literally can't hang out with you unless I want to get sick. I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass. Decongestants kill my sex drive, so me being with a smoker would be a futile exercise.

I have dated smokers in the past and no amount of toothpaste or mouthwash gets rid of smoker's breath. When that stuff wears off, whoa Nelly! I guess some people get used to it, but I just can't.

I'd go to hug someone and his hair and clothes would smell like smoke. If I visited his house or sat in his car, tobaccy smell from hell. You can't open a window and spritz a little Febreeze or room spray around to get rid of eau de tobacco. Blech. I would try to ignore it, but the vault-like sinuses would win every time.

Boy, this post is a total ramble.

Maybe I should do something crazy like plan what I'm going to write before I do!

Enjoy your day and have a great work week (if at all possible).

see...I don't understand the spelling thing. I mean, they have SPELL CHECK for cryin' out loud. Does that mean that if they were stopping by in person, they wouldn't even check to see if their fly was open?

Wait..bad example...forgot where I am...

But still.

Yeah, I'm still [blog 1hotwahine]

I have met and leave near a man on this site and we have become friends. If I plan to meet anyone I give my friend the when, where, time, handle of the person I am meeting etc. I call my friend when I get to the meeting spot and I call him again when I leave (in my car on the road). I meet in busy restaurants only, no secluded areas. I guess my approach is that any of the people we meet could be an axe murder.

Nothing wrong with your non-smoker preference. Im a smoker and can understand that completely. Since I smoke obviously Im immune to smelling it on myself. But in the morning I cannot stand that smell! Its like my small stint as a non-smoker, terrible. So trying to get intimate with someone who smells like that, can understand why that wouldnt work lol.

oh, and you are cursed with odd emails! but it does entertain the masses haha

Caressmewell -

I'd rather be too careful than not careful enough.

I had a good friend that literally had to escape from someone that tried to attack her on a date. I'm not saying that she deserved to be attacked, but she didn't help her situation (She agreed to meet quickly, went to a neighborhood she was unfamiliar with AND didn't tell anyone where she was going--a grown woman.)

Her experience made me more careful than I already was.

I have a couple of good friends that I call just before I meet someone and again at some point to let them know things are okay. If I give them the code phrase, they'll come running. I haven't ever had to use it and I hope I never will.

Sometimes once is really enough. LOL

There are certain situations (and people) that I don't want second servings of.

A lot of people only smoke when they drink, so I guess that's not as bad. I still hate the smell, though.

I took a peek at the award I was nominated for.

It's nice to see I'm in such good company.

I do feel a tiny bit guilty for weeding people out because they like the tobaccy, but the tobaccy doesn't like me. LOL

You're spending all the money on smokes when you could be spending it on baubles and trinkets for ME?

I'm disappointed. LOL

I suffer from KRS, that's an acronym, (big word), for Kan't Remember Shit! Such would inclulde how to properly spell words. I figure that the generation of "hooked on phonics" is comming fruition eh? The very nature of the net alters how all too many of us come to communicate with one another also. We shoten things, but come on, when you can drop one letter and actually think you saved some time?

Those using 2 4 U and such, well that is lame as it can get. You pointed this out earlier in this blog. I agree. Sucks 2 b them eh?

Smoking sucks, I know I'm still one of them. I wish I could and would just quit. I'm too old to hang onto crap like a cigarette. But alas I am still one of them, as such it's best I find one that also is or can at least put up with my habit, and hopefully I'll not offend them often with it.

Thanks for the compliment about the smile.

I smile like my pops, so I'll give my father and my dentist props next time I see either of them.

Some of the shortcuts are more of a pain in the ass to type instead of the actual word (like l8r).

Well, you have your smoking thing and I have my shopping thing. Hundreds of dollars spent every year, and for what? We all have our little vices.

Incidentally, I'm not one of those non-smokers that stares death rays at anyone that lights up. I just don't enjoy allergy attacks. LOL

"I didn't take up smoking because it would eat into my manicure and shoe budget." - LMFAO

OMG. My mom smokes. My daughter smokes. All my biz associates smoke. Hell, even my doc smokes. I feel your pain...I live on sinus/allergy meds. Sucks. Can't say they tamper with my sex drive though. I'd just die with a clogged head if they did.

The libido zapping is a horrible, horrible side effect.

I thought it was just me but I was talking to a friend about it and he said that allergy meds do the same thing to him.

Call me crazy, but I like to be able to breathe properly when I'm having close, interpersonal relations.

I know an unrepentant smoker or two.

The only thing I ask is that they don't blow it over in my direction. LOL

Scents are an interesting thing, aren't they?

Hi DCE!

It's been awhile, and I just wanted to say "Hi!' Just got back from weeks in Mississippi.

I agree with the smoking thing. You cannot get rid of the smell or the breath.............and I don't care how beautiful you are with that kind of breath...........not gonna do it.

I used to be a smoker some 18 years ago, and have become a serious non-smoker. I can understand and not from an allergy standpoint.

BTW, I wouldn't mind helping you out with your shoe and manicure budget? What are friends for? Afterall, we are practically neighbors.

Cheers,

Dutch

Hey Dutch -

It's great that Blog Land's resident do-gooder is back safe and sound.

I hope everything went well in Missisippi.

As for the offer to help me with my shoe and manicure budget, you really, really don't want to go there.

When I saw how many pairs of shoes Imelda Marcos had, I figured I could surpass her and have been trying to do it ever since. I'm only a tenth of the way there, so you'd better have some deep pockets. LOL

I forgot about the old, "I won't smoke around you" excuse.

I think that goes with the standard, "I won't cum in your mouth." LOL

There's some irony. LOL

He is probably one of those guys that doesn't have any pictures on his webpage, but emails women to ask for theirs.

Thanks for visiting, btw.
