when I first started on AdultFriendFinder and I told a few friends about it, I showed them some profiles. and made a few comments.. They would laugh at me when I would say NO, not that one ..they can't spell. I just have a thing for that. It started in grade school, I guess. If you won the spelling bee than you got to be first in the lunch line. And to the tomboy who was always running around and constantly hungry; being first in line meant a lot!! Anyway..when you are typing up something for other people to read if you cannot spell use spellcheck!!! Proofread!!! although with spellcheck you can get a word that sounds like it but it is spelled differently and means a totally different thing! So its a clue that they did use it! I personally know 2(two) people going for their masters degree(one in EDUCATION of all things!!!) and THEY CAN'T SPELL FOR SHIT!!! Always asking me how to spell things for her! ISN'T THAT A PREREQUISITE?! WELL, IT SHOULD BE!!! I would think that it would be ... so now that I typed all this I guess I better use spell check.. And like my mother used to tell me when I asked her how to spell something LOOK IT UP IN THE DICTIONARY!!!!

OK I feel better now..I'm going back to bed..

I know exactly what you mean... especially on the internet these days with all the "wut u want 2 du 4 ur burfdai??? l0lz!!1!"

It's sad that so few people can spell, and laziness when typing only makes it worse. In a lot of cases, I can't even tell what the hell some people are trying to say. I'm sick of hearing the excuse that "it's faster to type this way". No it's not. It not only makes you look like an idiot, but it makes your messages difficult to read.

If a person is going for their college degree (especially something higher than a bachelors) they should at least have the ability to form a comprehensive thought with few spelling errors. Mispelling every other word in a written message because it's "faster" is just about the laziest thing I've ever heard.
