Smokers make me mad sometimes

I don't complain much about people but I just got to the point where Smokers are starting to piss me off. I don't care if you smoke but heavens sake have some respect for other people and property. Last night Jentry had to fight a fire at Keyhole state park, he fought it from 6pm tio around 1 am till it was out and guess what started it. YUP a cig. someone just flicked it out their window. I mean come on the grass is brown it hasn't rained in weeks and you have a ashtray in your car. It did some serious damage and cost alot of money. And really made the park ugly. Its so sad. Some people are so inconsiderit. makes you just wonder. Hopefully whoever did that relizes that they are the reason for the fire and they will be much more careful in the future.

Fire is a MAJOR concern for far the mositure in our part of Johnson Cnty has been a grand total of 10" and that's since Jan 1.

We spend a lot of time in Crazy Woman Canyon and it is tinder dry up there as well if you are more that 10 yrs away from the creeks. So we have that fire worry as well..

We do smoke, but are polite smokers.. we carry a water bottle to put the ash and butts in.. and because our pastures are so dry we don't venture outside with a lit cigartte..

This just might be a good time to quit.

Hell, they should arrest their asses! I'm a smoker, and I try to be very considerate of it. I won't smoke, even in an approved smoking area, if children are nearby or even non-smokers who may be downwind. It takes so little to be considerate of others, yet few people do. And you're right, anyone with half a brain knows better than to flick a cig outside in dry conditions. It's actually criminal. What if someone was injured as a result of the fire? Not to mention all the wasted parkland, and the time and effort of the firefighters who may have been needed elsewhere. Good post, I hope it gets people thinking!
