Listening To The Rain

As I woke up early this morning, I could hear the sound of the raindrops falling softly on the skylight above my bed. It was a nice calm soothing sound. My body still ached from all the yard work I did yesterday, & I was tired, so it was wonderful & relaxing to let the soft gentle coaxing of those raindrops ease me back to sleep.

Having the skylight above my bed can be a wonderful thing, most of the time, like this morning with the soft rain, or during a lightening storm at night when the whole room lights up... but there are those times, when it sounds like all hell has broken loose, or someone is up there beating on the skylight like a drum.

Its funny how entertaining a rain storm can be. I just wish I had a dry place to sit outside & watch the rain sometimes. I bet some of the thunder last night was a bit freaky under a skylight. Bt I like the I dea of it being above the bed.

playtime, that storm the other night was just wicked & very very loud! i couldn't sleep at all while it was raining & thundering, & when it let up a bit, so i could fall asleep, the thunder would crack & the rain would beat like drums to wake me up all over again. it did that for hours, & to top it all off... the storm knocked out our electricity around midnight!
