Sad day to be a fish

It happened... That great grey monster, spawned from hell and sent to torment me strikes.

Of the fourteen beauties in the pond, only four are left alive and one of those looks real beat up. Probably won't last the night.

In less than a half hour that cursed monster took ten including my two favorites, the largets of the school.

And I cant even kill that bastrad bird, protected by law and free to destroy at whim and will...

Can you stretch chicken wire over the pond until it goes on its merry way?

I know... It was like a tarry black omen when I saw that thing the other day... I should have done something then when the fish still had a chance...

    Awe sweetie, I'm so sorry.
I hope you find a solution soon.

Workin on it babe... Got some motion activated sprinkler heads and predator decoys. I hate to mess it up but looks like I'll have to put up a net too. Most sites say the same thing... "No one thing works" so I figure if I use a few methods, I may have better success. We'll see.

You know sexyfit... I was thinking last night about all this. I could have dealt with a coon or possum, even the kestrels and osprey are more or less easy to deter. But I'm just so not prepared for a heron. Just don't know whats going on in that head yanno? Workin on it though. I'm sure we'll get it all sorted out eventually.

Maybe Peach... I'm looking into different netting options from an enclosed canopy arangement to just some black nylon netting on posts. Somehow, I doubt it'll just take a week or two to make this thing get the hint so I expect whatever barrier I come up with will be more or less permanent.

Man I hate turning the pond into an eye-sore yanno?

We stopped herons on our pond by tying fishing line around the edge. They have to land on the ground and then hop to the pond, fishing line strung around the edge can stop their access....
I've read that... Kind of mixed reviews though. It's kinda moot now though, I just bought one of those pop-up lawn gazebo things with mosquito netting walls. That should do - I hope...
