With apologies to my fellow passengers on the 4:45 Seattle to Bainbridge ferry.

I saw some of the looks, I saw a few of you take a half step away. You know what, I didn't care. I'm not sure what possessed me. The music playing from my mp3 player was just too much to keep me still. The sharp lyrics of Modest Mouse, the melody's of Death Cab for Cutie. The inspirational Reggae of Matisyahu. It all filled me with such joy that I couldn't stop my shoulders from swaying and head bobbing to the beat. I lipsynced the words that I knew and hummed when I didn't know the words. What was it today that enveloped me? There are so many things it could have been. It could have been the absolutely beautiful day that I could see outside of the windows, the Olympic in all of their splendor. It could have been the thought of a new friendship that has taken grasp of me like nothing in a long time. It could have been the wonderful tales I've been reading(Mr. Shakespear, you were so ahead of your time). It could have been the thought of heading to Bainbridge to do something I truely have a love for. Oh, what the hell...today was a beautiful day and the wonderful music surrounding me on the ferry was simply a soundtrack of my happiness. I'm happy. For those of you that felt you were standing next to a lunatic, my apologies. I only hope everyone can feel like this some day.
