What makes a true American?

I saw this post on another site, and thought hmm.... interesting.

Why is it that people of an African heritage are the only ones on the census form with American behind our heritage? I guess it confuses me because theirs no Arab Americans, Asian Americans, Mexican American, Indian American ....... on the census forms, job apps or anything of importance.
I guess what confuses me a little more is the facts are... I was born in Florida, have never been out of the country don't know much about Africa so why do I have to be labeled by my heritage. Aren't I simply an American? I was born here, raised here and am going to die here. If that doesn't make me an American I don't know what does.

The only time I have called myself African American is on a job application. I am a stone cold American, nothing more.

I've always been confused by that myself. My "African-American" friends refer to themselves and others as "black", and so do I. Is there something wrong with that?

Well the problem with it truly is im not black lmao. I am brown lol. The one title I have that remains the same is MY NAME! Get to know me and use it to identify me not my color lol.

This is just my opinion

I feel that we are all americans, if we was born here. Color doesn't make a differents. But I have dated black women for along time. I enjoy being with them more.
