Stupid Crimes, Stupid People and Stupid Thing's

From time to time about one a month we get these emails about Stupid Crimes and Misdemandors which on some we get a good laugh, so I am going to share some of these with you all.

Thief's Return

In the UK, cops nabbed a shoplifter after he return to the shop the next day to apply for a job. (Hmmm, nope he didn't get the job!)

Thief nabbed after job application

28 June 2006

A THIEF who stole from an Ipswich sports shop and had the nerve to go back the next day and ask for a job got his comeuppance when staff recognized him from CCTV footage.

Daniel Alexander was unsurprisingly told there was no job available to him when he went to JD Sports just one day after he had shoplifted from the store.

Alexander, 18, appeared in South East Magistrates' Court on Monday, where he was charged with stealing a hooded top worth £28 from the Tavern Street shop in May.

The Crown Prosecution Service said it was not an unusual case - other than the fact he had tried to get a job there.

Alexander, of no fixed address, was given a one-day custody sentence after pleading guilty to the offence.

Howard Catherall, mitigating, said: “He's a young man who doesn't get on with his stepfather and has periodic spells of homelessness.

“During these spells he has no financial support and he delves into petty shoplifting, stealing one item at a time and selling it for food.

“It's a cycle. He leaves home, steals, sells it and then makes up with his family. There's no visible end to the cycle.”

Mr Catherall asked the court to provide Alexander with help from the Probation Service. But while sentencing, District Judge Samantha Leigh said it was up to Alexander to solve his problem.

She said: “You may only be 18 years old but people younger than you manage to survive and sort themselves out and that's what you need to do.”

It was a shop manager who recognized Alexander from security camera footage when he went to the shop and asked for a job.

At court, Alexander also pleaded guilty to failing to show for court on an earlier occasion and admitted breaching a conditional discharge imposed previously for shoplifting and failing to surrender to court.

Electric Boogaloo!

Two Florida men were arrested after pawning a deputy's lost Taser. Their take you ask? Well just $10 bucks!

Two men charged for pawning deputy's lost taser
Tampa, Florida –

Two men are under arrest over a pawned taser a deputy lost during a foot-chase earlier this month.

Marc A. Manz, 29, manager of Bay Area Pawn & Jewelry, was charged with knowingly accepting stolen property, and Danny Warren Davis, 43, of Lutz was charged with grand theft, dealing in stolen property and felon in possession of an electronic weapon.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's office said a deputy lost his taser and holster during a foot pursuit June 12th. Davis found it and brought it to a pawnshop on Nebraska Avenue, where manager Manz gave him $10 for it, investigators said.

"Manz did not complete a Florida Pawnbroker Form as required per Florida Law nor did he report the transaction to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office which is also required by Florida law," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Investigators said Manz called the manufacturer of the Taser and verified it was the property of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. On three separate occasions, a sheriff's office detective was in Manz' pawnshop and Manz never mentioned the recovery of a Taser, they said.

Davis was arrested last Monday. Deputies picked up Manz today.

Naked and "Stupid"

Did the Galvestion man arrested for walking naked on a seawall, cause a car? Hmmm....The world may never know.

Naked Man Arrested on Seawall Says He Was "Stupid"

A man arrested for walking naked on the seawall in Galveston says he was "just stupid." Galveston police say the unidentified man was charged with disorderly conduct after officials found him standing naked on the seawall while holding his clothes under one arm.

According to the "Galveston Daily News," police believe the man may have been trying to get the attention of some ladies watching from a nearby balcony.

Witnesses say the man was ordered to lie on the sidewalk and put his shorts back on before getting into the police car.

Oddly enough, that’s about the same time two cars collided on Seawall Boulevard nearby.

Police are not saying if the wreck was caused by the naked man or not.

The Affair of the Underwear

Another burglar decided to make himself at home, but this time he walked away wearing the homeowner's clothes to include his underwear! YES you heard me right!

Strange burglary leaves Hampton homeowner scratching his head

Here's one you probably haven't heard before.
A burglar makes himself comfortable in a home, so comfortable-- he took a shower there and then left wearing the homeowner's clothes-- including his underwear.

It happened in Hampton a couple of days ago, on Carmel Terrace.

John Axsom says that his house was broken into this past Friday. The intruder ransacked the house, took a shower, used items in his medicine cabinet and changed into some of Axsom's clothing while leaving behind his own clothes. He even drank orange juice out of Axsom's refrigerator.
They think that the same guy also broke into a police officer's house 1 or 2 days before on Orcutt Ave.

Mr. Axsom thinks that when the burglar broke into his house, he got Axsom's mother's address on Hammon St. Apparently when he went over there, she was home and he broke into a neighbor’s house.

More to come in Part 2

The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. Kind makes one wonder what these people were thinking. Or, in these cases, not thinking.
