As Promised.

As promised a photo of "Goldie" Who is on the left and "Brandy" right.

Brandy was named by longhairednikki in a little competition that I had on one of my old posts, Which I stupidly deleted in a moment of frustration.

This post is just a little change of pace.
Much better than the previous one, which
brought out a few of the less desirable
characters on this system.

For those of you that dont know about my collection. I collect "Whitefriars" art glass.

Have a good weekend everybody.

Dear Tony,

I like your ducks very much. It actually made me remember a true story which I hope you will like.-

Back in the days of visiting carnivals to small towns one guy exhibited what he called "The Amazing Dancing Ducks". The ducks would be standing on a metal plate and then when the music started there would be a current of electricity passed through the plate so the ducks would lift up one leg and then the other as if they were dancing! Thankfully these days we have the RSPCA to prevent such cruelty to animals .

I also thought I would share with you one of my favourite quotes- 'Insults are the first resort of a dull and unimaginative mind". Hopefully a lot of people on this site will be able to relate to that!

Best wishes from Oz cobber!

John (aka Bathrobe Guy)

The insults. Yes I agree with you on that. I can relate to it lol.

Dear Tony,

That Dancing Duck story is true. I think it is very sad that so many people will do anything for a dollar. There was also the guy who exhibited an fish tank full of water and he introduced it as 'The Amazing Invisible Amazonian Fish!" Here is the latest on my Village Idiot friend Cleetus-

Cleetus came home from school one day when he was 16 and he was very excited and said to his Father "Hey Dad, I lost my virginity at school today!"

And his Father said "Son, that's great. Have a beer and tell me all about it. Did you like it?"

And Cleetus said "Sure Dad, it was really good but my ass still hurts!"

Best wishes to you Tony,

John from Oz.

Hi John,

Sadly my wife died in October, So no Valentines card this year mate. Maybe next year who knows.

Did you send or receive any???

Dear Tony,

I am very sorry to hear about your wife and you have my condolences.

I didn't send any cards because all of the nice women I used to know are now happily married. The good news is that at my age (45) a lot of women are now getting divorced because their kids are now grown up and left home and then they decide they don't want to spend the rest of their lives with their husbands. So maybe the ones I let "slip away" from me 20 years ago will be available again soon? I live in hope!

By the way I thought you might like to hear where the term 'cobber " originated from. Back on the Victorian Goldfields here in 1853 tobacco was very scarce. So if you found a nice guy who was a smoker then he would share his cob pipe with you. Hence the term "cobber" meaning good friend.

Best wishes to you Tony.

Hey John,

I never knew that was where the word cobber came from. I am sure the girls that slipped away will soon be knocking on your door. Make sure Cheetus does not answer the door though lol

Take care mate. Speak soon.

Dear Tony,

Cleetus and I sometimes hit the Singles Bars on Saturday night together. He seems to be able to attract a lot of "dumb blondes" who are on the same intellectual level as him so that way I get to finally meet some HOT women!

Best wishes and take care cobber!

John from Oz.
