Define Vanilla

I was at a fast food place today for lunch, and while I was waiting for my food, I was chatting with my friend and half listening to the music that was coming from the entertainment system. This place had a big flat screen monitor and was streaming videos into the restaurant.

Most of the music that was playing is stuff that I had only the most vague knowledge of. Then a tune came on, and while I did not recognize the melody itself, the voice was unmistakable for its blandness; it was Celine Dion.

Her voice isn't that distinctive that when you hear it, but you just absolutely know who it is. It is probably the most recognizeable nondescript voice there is.

Celine's voice used to drive me crazy and I saw her rise in fame and how arrogant and full of herself she was then her ridiculous wedding and renewal of just showed how really full of herself she is...and I don't know what happened...I started to like some of the lyrics of the songs she sang and I now really love her music and her voice...her materialistic lifestyle and excess of living still leaves me not admiring her...but I can seperate the two.

Vanilla....familiar, comfortable, soothing, and still wonderful. Music can be vanilla. And so can people.
