My city

I grew up surrounded by mountains...well i guess surrounded isn't the correct word...I lived in the lower mainland (Vancouver) until i was 23...I loved being able to drive up to the mountains...take a day hike in the summer and do the Grouse Grind...

I moved up here to a relativley flat place (well at least compared to what i grew up in...yet this city is beautiful in a different way...

I had lived here for two years before i made it up to the took my breath away...its like standing on the edge of the world...

There is a whole network of hiking and walking trails basically right at my back door...

i have a house on a 3rd of an acre for a 10th the price of what i would have paid where i grew up...

Every city has its own beauty...These are the things that i love about my city and they are the things that i will miss when i leave...

the most beautiful thing about my city is seeing in my rear view mirror.

I very much agree with this post. I grew up in suburbia and have now found myself near the center of Chicago. I've only just recently moved and have yet to really get a hold of the pulse of the city. But there is definately so much I want to explore and experience. I do miss having some of the forrestry around but the cityscape is quite impressive.

Which brings to bear the question why am I online at a time like this and not out pounding the streets. Whoever thought of the ideas of jobs was an idiot. Anyway, just thought I'd share of the beauty of my city. Someday maybe I'll show you my photos of it.

I'm with sexyfitwoman... I hate the grind!! lol
but the view from the top, or from any of the surrounding mountains is amazing! We live in North Van and to think that we can do this within 20 minutes from our house, or be on the ocean in the same time... truly beautiful!

I grew up in Toronto... and I loved the big city... bar bands, gorgeous women, live theatre, and lots of movie theatres... I stopped in Prince George to visit a buddy for three days.... been here for 15 years... everyone I met is just passing through town and have been here for longer than me... Its a great place to live and own a house... and I can visit Vancouver or go fishing in Rupert or climb mtns in Jasper and everything in between.... all within an 8 hour drive... where else can you do that?

It is a great workout and the feeling i get at the top is worth the sweat and the pain i usually feel the next day...I get a sense of well as a sense of nature...even though you are still in the middle of civilization...

Very beautiful part of the country!!! When I lived in Seattle, my favorite place to go was Whistler. Loved the drive from Vancouver up into the mountains!!

What's the air quality like where you live in PG? I travel there regularly for work and sometimes the air quality is pretty poor.

i live outside the bowl the air quality is pretty good...

you are right though right in town the air does get pretty bad...all the fine particulates get stuck in the bowl...

there is air quality warnings sometimes...that tell joggers that they should stay inside...
