Sept. 11th, 2006

5 years ago a unimaginable event occurred. It has changed everything that has followed. America will never be the same.

This event was orchestrated by a lunatic and his followers to cause harm to a country that they are afraid of. This act was preformed by cowards who clearly never had an original thought of their own.

The entire country, and world, were shocked at what had been done. Many lives were lost, and are still being lost. Due to this event and its repercussions.

This is my remembrance and moment of silence for what occurred that day.

( )

That is all I will give these terrorists of my time. I will remember, but will move forward with my day's activities. I believe in remembering, but not re-living. I think as a society we can get stuck on these tragedies like some holy grail.

Like the news should come on and do a quick reminder remembrance, with an update on efforts in place today - then go right into the daily news show. But this will not happen, it will be an all out beating a dead , I am afraid.

And a rumor, I have heard, about one channel playing the events back at the exact same time for the entirety of the event. This is just wrong, from my view point. And you know damn well, that they are doing it for viewer ship and no other noble cause.

I was really mad when some of the films that were coming out right after this event, white washed themselves by digitally taking the towers out of the film. I felt that action was misplaced.

These are my views, you may comment, if you wish. But do not be negative in any way regarding my "opinion". I will value yours, as well. Do not make any comment to cause emotional harm to "anyone" here. I will most likely, not respond to any comments left.

I will also, respect those that do not want any activity on there blogs for the day. As their remembrance. If by some chance, some cross over occurs, and I honestly missed your day of silence post. I am sorry. I will do my best to honor your individual wishes.

Mav, you told me once that you were no writer. But you were wrong. What you have posted I think exactly reflects the right degree of contained moral outrage at the networks' self-serving hypocrisy in using the events of 9/11 to increase their viewer ratings. Shame on them.

Blogito ergo sum.

I think you and I sing from the same hymn sheet on this subject.

I find it incredible that some news stations would sink to the gutter in a ratings war but I realise that some people really are that shallow.

To each their own re 911. Me.....it's just another day.....I'll respect our dead and wronged in my own way in my own time.

I had just put my son on the school bus to school...as I heard the news I wanted to rush out and bring him back home ...to be with me...the uncertainty, the stunned shock, the many questions, and the tears for all those touched by this nightmare...it still echos.
