The sun rises. Many nights alone the gambler rides. Another town, another smoke filled room, another les learned. He sits and stares at the cards on the table wondering if chance should be taken. Thoughts race... hold or fold. With weathered facial lines he tries to read the granite stares of his opponents face. Too late...chance has passed. Now the "what if's" haunt the gunslinging gambler...cards that should have been played, bluffs given, gambles missed. But the joker has risen. Most young card players seem complacent about life going on around them...take it or leave it...just another day at the table. But, age comes...a tough old gambler has learned hard lessons, and that's when life takes focus. He realizes the joker is real. Not a card to be played. He starts understanding clearly in his heart that life has a bit more meaning...the table is more important then he once thought. Missed chances can sometimes be life changing. Alone again he rides into the sunset.
