Just A Thought !! That I've Thought A Million Times Over.

I had just gotten back from another weekend of
traveling for work and reflected on the folks
from different towns and cities asking what
I think of their places of residence. The
main thing I always say is that "each town
and city in America has something different
about it". A flavor and uniqueness of it's own.

You should visit Hawaii...
Then you'll really see a mix of peoples and cultures all living together on a little rock in the middle of the great Pacific.

One of the disappointments I've experienced traveling in America is a phenomena I call "Generica"--every corner a Starbucks, a Wal-Mart and McDonalds. Sometimes, when traveling--the familiarity of a favorite drink I know will be the same--is a comfort (the reason I try to always stay in a Hampton--predictable great bed, bottle of water on the nightstand, and a hot breakfast). But I try to get off the beaten path to the little backalley bistro--the kooky shop--the local wayside club with great wings and a sultry pianist. I want to know the people, the passion--I want to see the cracks and grit behind the facade.

If you like multiculturalism, you must visit Toronto some time!
It has every flavour you can think of, like Baskin & Robbins ice cream...
Cheers!
