Love Awaits. A Poem

As we lead up
To that all important
First meeting
I am reminded of
Years and decades
Of feelings.

How I just wanted love
And how it was
Denied me.
To the point
Of giving up
Setting for sex
And forever
Feeling empty.

Now we have a chance!
An effing golden opportunity!
We can push
All that pain
And angst
Out the way
As we learn
Our fate
The promise of
True love awaits.
