A Second Chance at Eden?

There's been a series of short programmes on Channel 4 this week looking at the online virtual world, Second Life.

For those of you unfamiliar with it the world is basically a 3 dimensional cyberspace where members construct their avatars and, basically put, live out a second life. Here one can buy land and property, set up businesses dispensing virtual wares do everything real wolrd people do in their lives.

I decided to check it out.

I spent a couple of hours last night putting together my avatar. Being abit of a genderqueer I've unleashed my inner big girl and created a normal looking young woman with a healthy bit of extra padding. Currently she's now resting on the new member's orientation island perusing the wardrobe of clothes I picked up for her. So when times are slow in real life I'll update my readers on how things are going.

Bt once again, moan time. Within two minutes of having edited my appearance I had one "female" come up and proposition me. Some people are just so subtle! Well it could be worse. My partner nipped on yesterday and was accosted by a bunch of desperate guy avatars with humungous erections, begging for a BJ. So it seems you cannot escape the kind of desperation I talked about yesterday, *sigh*.

But don't let that put you off. The company behind it claims the gender split is 50/50, and to be honest if you want to escape desperadoes of either sex it's the kind of place that would frustrate an immediate sexual hit. So if you're looking for something abit different and have a pile of time on your hand (aswell as a powerful home system!), check it out.
