Marriage is a joke.

In my experiences here at AdultFriendFinder, I've found that 90% of the men here are married or have a live in girlfriend. After talking to a man recently, he believes the number of married or attached women here is about 70%.

My question is...what's the point of being married? If your vows mean nothing and you're willing to lose everything you have to sneak around, why make them? How does a married person have a anonymous sexual encounter and then go home and look their mate in the eye, tell them they love them and manage to sleep beside them at night.

I know we all have needs, and I'm not talking about the couples here who are into the lifestyle. But when do our needs outweigh common decency? Am I silly to think there is such a thing in our society?

This topic is on my mind in part because of the furor over gay marriage. I keep hearing comments that somehow gay people making a committment to each other threatens heterosexual marriage. After being on AdultFriendFinder for a while I know that the biggest threat to heterosexual marriage is heterosexuals themselves. What, are you afraid gay people would be more successful than we are at it?
