Everything Is Beautiful...by Ray Stevens

Intro
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Chorus
Everything is beautiful in its own way
Like a starry summer night or a snow covered winter's day
Everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's heaven the world's gonna find a way

There is none so blind as he who will not see
We must not close our minds we must let our thoughts be free
For every hour that passes by, you know the world gets a little bit older
It's time to realize that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder

Chorus
Everything is beautiful in its own way
Like a starry summer night or a snow covered winter's day
Ah, sing it children, everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's heaven the world's gonna find a way

We shouldn't care about the length of his hair or the color of his skin
Don't worry about what shows from without but the love that lives within
We gonna get it all together now and everything's gonna work out fine
Just take a little time to look on the good side my friend
And straighten it out in your mind

Chorus
Everything is beautiful in its own way
Like a starry summer night or a snow covered winter's day
Ah, sing it children, everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's heaven the world's gonna find a way

Cynicism and materialism go hand in hand... it seems nobody wants to care about others any more.

Very true, Princess. Thanks for your post.

By the way: I love your profile! I'd love to be dominated by you--but, alas, we are 2700 miles apart...

    Quoting rm_36specialk:
    We are all beautiful...

I never appreciated this song until I started dating Mr.X. He's not an American, and when we go out, people stare at us, and well, me being me, I give them the look. It's so bad at times that I have to ask the clerks in stores, or department employees for help because they ignore him and his requests. People are closed minded and it bothers me very badly when I experience it. I wish we could take people at face value, but people take others according to the color of their faces.

    **hugs**
I know what you mean, K. It's a shame that some people have still not grown out of that childish prejudice. I remember when I was a hippie in the early 70s--people were looking at couples exactly the same way!
