Pure self-indulgence

In a couple years of playing around on this site, I've probably sent e-mails to four dozen women or so, but only six have ever responded. I wonder why I'm so unappealing? Am I that homely? Maybe it's my vocabulary. I wonder if I were here not for conversation but really just to find a quick lay if I'd suddenly become more popular. I'll never know.

After three days of beautiful warm weather without a cloud in sight, it's now hailing stones on my roof. I've never been able to photograph hail properly. It's like rain, but worse; it doesn't really show up on film. I suppose that's why I never see hailstorms in movies.

Why do people find pictures of a woman's snatch erotic? I missed that class in my adolescence, I guess. Medical photography doesn't do anything for me. Besides, don't people realize how much sexier it is to see a woman in clothes first? There's no build-up anymore, no foreplay, no tease, no excitement--nothing. Reminds me of Erica Jong's comment, that we've become "a society where everyone gets off, and no one is satisfied." How boring. The artistry is all gone. I'm amazed sometimes that there are still strip clubs that don't have wall-to-wall simulated sex onstage, or women practicing insertions.

In all this erotica I've been reading lately, there seems to be an attempt to "out-explicate" everyone--to be as explicit about every lurid detail as much as possible, but completely without imagination. There's nothing remotely romantic, which I wouldn't expect, but what's sad is that it's all about fucking, with completely interchangeable "characters." It's not about two particular people, or three particular people with any distinctness. The dialogue and descriptions for any given story could just as easily go into any other story with no one noticing.

I like some of the stories in "Yellow Silk," though; they seem to be an exception. Sort of like Dashiell Hammett or Ross MacDonald's detective stories compared to the rest of the genre: head and shoulders above. I wonder if there's actually too much porn in the world that everyone's simply become jaded, and the only thing that remains is to try to get a rise out of people by being more and more explicit. As a result, it's very dull.

Watched Russ Meyer's Blacksnake again. Everytime I watch it, something interrupts me. I've never had a continuous viewing of it yet. I like it, though Anoushka Hempel is waaaay out of her element. Besides, she's a little wisp of a thing, and clearly the role should be one of Meyer's huge-breasted dominatrix women. Still, it's a very pretty film to watch, in a strange way.

The weather outside sucks for doing any filming. I should have taken my camera out more this weekend, if I hadn't been so busy with clients. I need to take out an ad in the paper for casting the next film. I have to fix this other DVD player, too, and upgrade the computer. Money, Money...

Maybe I should stop working with actors entirely for this next picture, and just round up all the busty women I can find through ads and casting calls and walking along the streets. Real people are less flaky by far. It's surprisingly hard to get busty women to be in front of a camera, even when there's no nudity, like in my films. Not sure why.

Well, hell, enough for now.

here's another perspective on your responses: look at the ratio of men to women- 13:1 conservatively, what with the 'for pay' links, men posing as women, etc. It's probably not personal, or your vocabulary, just the numbers!?
