Psychic...powerless...another man's Sac

It looks like I'm headed to the dread Sacramento for two shows, which will probably pay nothing, as they normally do, and have an audience comprised mainly of rejects from UC Davis. Still, I haven't shown a film of mine publicly in almost a year, so it's good to get back on the road. I've spent the last two weeks sitting on my arse in front of Final Cut Pro, trying to prep my four short films for release, and the tango film is still giving me fits to edit. I can sense the structure it should have, but I just can't get to it. So back to the out bin, I suppose.

I have to rewrite the Sci-Fi script. I think I was too busy laughing that I forgot a couple key elements of, oh, I don't know--plot, I suppose. Still, it'll be a blast. I just hate the thought of casting it, but I always feel that way before making a film.

I have Russ Meyer's Cherry Harry & Raquel on the editing viewer, and am still going over it shot by shot. It's actually really amazing how tightly edited it is. Somewhere behind all the big bosoms and square jaws there is a real craft I wish I had. Of course, it helps to have Uschi Digard in a movie, anyway.

Maxi Mounds' book should be arriving on my doorstep this week. I've no idea what to expect out of it, but I suppose it would be nice to hear what it's like to be a feature dancer who travels around to all the tacky clubs in the States and Canada. She strikes me as a nice gal, if a bit on the dim side of the bulb, but maybe that's just me.

Okay, back to editing...for now.
