what does the word

mean to you?

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

the first thing to come to mind is "giving up". But it could very well be "calling a truce" as well.

"I am beautiful no matter what you say, words can't bring me down. So don't you bring me down today."

To give one's self up and be led or even dominated

wickedeasy replies on 8/30/2006 4:25 pm:
why would one have to give oneself up to surrender? maybe in the surrendering you find yourself

"letting something or someone take your self control."
It happens in life.

Sometimes, we surrender our heart, hoping to get it back filled with love.

Hoping that "sweet surrender" comes back in ten-fold to you, Sis.

very first word that popped into my head.....failure.

wickedeasy replies on 8/30/2006 4:32 pm:
that's intriguing

and i have to say, i have felt that way myself -

now, i do believe there is a beauty in surrender, a true acknowledgement of my inner need, and in the non-sexual sense, an awareness of my limitations

mom said to me, "wanna be right, or do you wanna be happy" sighs
clearly i want both - and equally clearly - that ain't gonna happen
still, i often persist against all reason and happiness to make a point - stubborn little irish imp that i am

hugs - and thanks for giving me pause

Surrender..a complicated meaning to the word.
Let me see if i can express my thoughts here..

to me it doesn't meaning being a door mat..it is a voluntary turning over of myself, my body, my mind, my will to another person. i yeild myself to the power, control, or possession of another upon demand. i give up completely or agree to forgo my own wants especially in favor of another One. Then it is trusting that person will appreciate the gift i have given Him.

grrrr. i am not explaining this very well. i hope some of that makes sense WE.

Hugs ya

It has meant many things to me. Sometimes it means turning it over and not feeling I should or have to manage the show...letting some Power greater than myself hold the outcomes for me.

Sometimes it's /s...

Sometimes it's the possession of the body by Spirit

Sometimes it's giving...just giving in the service of healing. Not thinking or projecting about the outcomes, but simply letting myself be the vessel for working it's impact on someone.

Sometimes it's about saying I"m can't do it.

Sometimes it's about I loose.

Sometimes it's about giving up to get something better.

Yup...this juiciness is from me....

To me, it means to give. Unlike many others that travel in our circles, I don't think it is a gift. I think it is a natural wonderful thing. Surrender is something we all do in some shape form or fashion. Pleasure can be derived from it. It's a win-win IMO. Do you understand my philosophy behind this? I could write a book here but feel that you KNOW within yourself what I am speaking of my dear friend. Love you darlin' ♥

Isn't the meaning so context-laden? If I were to choose one word I would say, "yield."
