a call to arms............

i wrote a blog last night - about midnight i guess after a particularly difficult day and evening and posted it.

i came on today with my heart thumping - what exactly had i done/written.

had i made a fool of myself and knowing me, how many damn typos were in it??

surprisingly - no typos - well no really bad ones

and i stand by it although i find it poorly constructed

there is a huge amount of outrage lately in the blogs - what was that movie where the guys sticks his head out the window and yells "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going ot take it anymore?"

guess that's how a lot of us feel - some of us because of relationships, some of us because of the indifference of our government, some of us because of the inexorable whittling down of personal freedoms and liberties.

so this amounts to a call to arms -

arms entwined around each other as friends to lighten the load of fear and depression - arms raised in protest as we stand and say NO to war and the senseless killing of our children, their children, all children - arms open wide to offer solace to those that need it right now, knowing that their arms will open to provide you with the same when you need it - arms lifting a person up and helping them move forward - arms with hands pressed together in prayer.

thanks for listening - now go DO something about it, whatever your IT is.

m

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

The movie was Network...very bizarre for the time, probably not nearly so today. I think the blogs are just mirroring the country...we as a people, even the conservatives have this vague and for some us not vague feeling that we're moving down a path that doesn't support us....and, that's making us all feel a little uneasy. The it for me is being politically active...what is it for you?

Actually, a "call to arms" is definitely appropriate - just not in the sense that political activists would mean it. You're right, though. There's a sense of restlessness, of uneasiness and uncertainty everywhere, not just on this site, but AdultFriendFinder is certainly a mirror for it right now. I'm just trying to keep my fingers out of the political pie - it came close to eating me alive, and I don't want that kind of stress in my life again!

The political world---2006 is a big one. The key to any change in the recent mistrust of government is for average Joe and Jane America to take it back for themselves. We have the most powerful tool--we have our voices. We can write letters, canvass for candidates, we can make phone calls. But even more than supporting a candidate, we MUST....MUST get people out to vote. It kills me that less than 50% of americans may vote in this upcoming election...which could stand to alter the direction of our path for a very long time...with so much at stake.

The blog world....a general malaise. Liars, dead men walking, hateful, spiteful words. What is adrift? Who knows. I see some of the staples leaving, and some others looking uncertain as to what is their next step. When the foundation is shakes, it affects everyone. At some point, a shining light will appear and remind us why this can be a good place. where that comes from yet, I don't know.

Hey, WE. I guess if a blog post that you're not sure about still holds up the next day and beyond, then it must be the right decision. Well done! A fellow blogger once posted in his blog that sharing information and insight is of vital importance. I think you probably know who I'm talking about. Keep on fighting the good fight, WE. It's a part of you that never dies. The struggle for change is what built this nation, and that same struggle will keep it from crumbling. I believe we're at critical mass right now. Your voice is an eloquent one and it makes a huge difference. Your wit, passion and wisdom is not only appreciated; it's crucial. Thanks for posting this! By the way, I think it's pretty cool how you balance it all out, while still maintaining an easy sense of humor. That's rare.

as a card carrying republican i don't care for most of the northeasts political stuff because i am a self made man i don't think government hand outs do much. I don't care for giving away the farm to make one poly group happy. This is american we have freedoms freedom to choose the job we want or the one that pays the bills. I strongly feel with this world ecomony yes high paying jobs get outsourced thats reality its not going to help to try and hold businesses hostage for we will just leave the taxes in new england boston area are horrifying i had a company there in the 1990's i moved it out west and saved dig this 5 million a year in goofy taxes alone why would i move it ? simple the local government treated me like a 2 dollar whore on sailer payday night thats why Richie Rich
