Ever Think About A Library?

Here is something that I have thought about a lot...

The Library of Alexandria in ancient Egypt, house the sum of human knowledge at the height of the Greek Empire. It stood as institution of learning for hundreds of years, was rumored to house the personal notes of Archimedes's, books by scientists and physicians, and contained copies of all the books that people had when they traveled through Alexandria. It had enough lecture halls to accommodate thousands of students and teachers. It is thought that when Julius Caesar invaded Egypt, the Library was burned and all of the knowledge housed there was lost. With no repository of knowledge, when the Roman Empire collapsed the dark ages began. We had to re-learn everything. What would our world be like had the Library withstood the ages?
