Mammogram Day

My thanks to Philosophy_N_Sex's blog. I actually stole the first two paragarphs of this post from their blog. This is too important.

"October is Nation Breast Cancer awareness month. Most of us are aware of breasts, but are not aware of the damage or threat of breast cancer. At least 10% of all women will get breast cancer. So with one out of ten ladies including grandma, mom, sister, daughter, aunt, a wife, mom in law, friend, lover, and a co-worker, at least one of them will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime! True the 10% might miss your family completely, but are you sure you want to risk it?

October 21st is national mammogram day! We all have women close to us, make sure these important people are taking care of themselves. Early screening is the best defense to this predator that can take a lovely lady right out of our lives. That is what those pink ribbons are all about!"

PLEASE - And I Shout it out "GET A MAMMOGRAM SCREENING".

I have lost three ladies who were very close to me to breast cancer - and another (my ex) just had a breast removed. She is fortunate that they found it early. A really good friend is in the hospital right now. The doctors tell her she may have two weeks left to live.

I watched my sister slowly die from this disease - over a VERY painful three year period. I remember the last time she looked at me, and smiled. It was her last smile. Twelve years ago. One day after her 42nd birthday.

Ladies - we love yer titties - but we love you more!!! Please - Please - Please --- do this.

How right you are. I once worked in an OB/GYN office and one of the doctors said basically the same thing. There were 20 women there and he said that chances were that 2 of us would develop the disease. I did have a scare, but thankfully it turned out to be nothing. So get that mammo done ladies. And men too can develop breast cancer, although it is rare. One needs to learn to pay attention to your body and your partner should too. Often men may feel something in their partners breast before she does as well as women finding something in the testicles. So be touch sensitive....
