Customer Service - What a Hose Job

What ever happened to customer service. How many times have ya gone to a resturant and your waiter/waitress 'forgot' about ya? When was the last time someone actually helped you find something down at the Wal-Mart? And did how about gettin' someone who knows their ass from a router in the local Home Center. Seems the only people tryin' to give good service are telemarketers...and damn if we don't hang up on them or make reference to their parents marital status. They still call every day, or two or three times a day despite our best effort. When was the last time someone at the gas station checked your oil or put air in your tires. I could tell ya about the daughter of the station owner, man could she service ya!! But I digress.
Even the 'upstairs' department stores no longer have the employees necessary for really high quality customer service - except for the perfume department. Man - don't ya hate to leave the store smellin' like 47 different designers cuz you couldn't get around the idiots with the spray bottles. And just try to get someone at your cellular provider to help you fix your broken antenna. Well sir, we could fix that but we would have to upgrade your plan to ten thousand free minutes for an additional $49.95 per month - and we'll give you a free phone. Your unlimited ten thousand minutes can be used anytime your phone is turned off. OH --- I can fix your phone...its just $49.95 per month and you get ten thousand.......geesh!!!!

You have touched on a pet peeve of mine: the decline in customer service. Fortunately, there are a few businesses where you can get good customer service and I patronize them. I usually have a favorite clerk or salesperson. However, the decline in customer service goes hand in hand with the popularity of rudeness in our society. Television sit-coms glorify rudeness. Thanks for bringing up this topic.
