Face The Morning With a Smile

I just love those moments of tenderness, of closeness that drift without deliberation into deep sensual passion. There is a naturalness about them, the beginnings of a gentle progression like the haunting exotic beginning of Ravel’s Bolero or calm waters lit in warm, glowing evening sunlight with just the first sign of passion’s storm on the horizon.

She’s lying on her right side, her light cotton skirt raised to her waist, her body slightly bent at the hips so that her lower abdomen and thighs form a soft, tender y-shaped recess into which I have rested my head. She is not wearing underwear. She strokes my hair as softly, carelessly I kiss her thigh. Her body scent is light, slightly musky and pheromonal. For such a subliminal scent it has the effect of arousing me and I can feel my cock harden with desire and find myself reaching round to the cleft between her buttocks, stroking softly, reaching inwards.

She rolls onto her back and her legs part, my head between her thighs, hands light upon her hips. I tease her yielding flesh with my lips, with my tongue. I hear her sigh and then……….

Awakened by my 6 a.m. alarm call.

Damn! And I say dammit a couple more times in the first half hour, lazing in the bath mulling over where it might have gone.

And then I think to myself, “Hang on it was only a dream. You’re reacting as if it was real.”

Which in turn got me thinking about the dream itself.

~Why should I have responded to something that was simply a creation of my mind, vivid though it was?

~I never saw Her face, but felt a deep sense of attachment. Who is the mystery woman?

~It was as tender as it was erotic. Quite softcore. Funnily enough if it was a good old horny’un I don’t think I would have felt the same way.

~I often awake a couple of minutes before the alarm call, so my internal clock seems to work well, so why does my brain script this dream so close to waking up time? Was it a coincidence ……… or …..

Aren’t dreams interesting? I’m sure my subconscious is telling me something …….

Ah well, maybe tonight I’ll get episode two!

Postscript:

About the title. My dad was a soldier all his life. Worked his way through the ranks to become an army officer ‒ quite an achievement, and I’m so proud of him for that. He used to say there was a sergeant who came into the barracks room at some unearthly hour and bellow out at the top of his voice with the rhythm of cruel poetry, “Wakey, wakey, rise and shine! Face the morning with a smile!”

Face the morning with a smile: an untimely, unwelcome awakening.

Maybe the line between dreams and reality is thinner than we think .....

Love stays with you. That's why it remained on your mind.
Sex is just an act, easily forgotten.
    Such a beautiful dream!
Im with good...sex is great but making love is earth moving spectacular. Not just the orgasms, the intimate touches, the scent of that person, the taste and way they kiss. Love the post but I didn't want you to wake up either quite yet

Good sex has to have some sense of meaning ..... an emotional component ...... wanting to be with the person you're with ..... sharing each other ....... sharing the moment .....

It's all a dream, or not. In so-called real life, it's our mind that largely projects what we see/feel/smell/taste and how we respond. (But I hope she shows up again tonight!). BBC

I subscribe to the view that conscious experience is a dream endorsed by experience, and there is quite a lot of recent psychology research to support this theory. Take for example what you are seeing - you "make up" more than 90 percent and use your eyes to finalise details and movement. I also think that dreams give a narrative to the process of transferring medium term memory to long term. If that is the case, and again there's good evidence, then someone might well have been on my mind.

I'm still waiting.......
