What does blogging do for you?

The blogger, by virtue of simply writing down whatever is on his mind, will be confronted with his own thoughts and opinions. Blogging every day, he will become a more confident writer. …. Being met with friendly voices, he may gain more confidence in his view of the world; he may begin to experiment with longer forms of writing ….. As he enunciates his opinions daily, this new awareness of his inner life may develop into a trust in his own perspective. ….. Ideally, he will become less reflexive and more reflective, and find his own opinions and ideas worthy of serious consideration.

This is from an essay by a long-term blogger (not of this site) called Rebecca; I quote it because it encapsulates my own experience of the last two months (is it only 2?) For a while I wondered if blogging was turning into a dangerous obsession for me, but as I feel the benefits more I become more focused during my session and waste less time. It doesn’t merely redress some of the social and sexual deficits of living in an isolated place. It is having an effect on the ways in which I interact sexually and socially. It’s also had an effect of how I see the diary that I’ve written for many years; now it seems so much more natural to share what I write than to stow it away in an exercise book. Interaction is natural, it is mind-broadening it is encouraging, it is therapeutic and it has all the effect that Rebecca describes.

I find it ironic that blogs (web logs) started off as a way of sharing links to interesting sites with brief comments but on our Friendly Site we are forbidden to share links.

However, if you’re reading up on the history of blogging you can google for the rest of the article.

Is blogging changing your life? HOW?

(never kept a diary cuz I didn't want someone to read my private thoughts) HA HA, instead I spew it all over the internet now...What has happened to me? LOL It must be my sexual liberation.

lol Agree waggy polly I find it a great release and a means of reflection on my thoughts, the process of putting it in writing helps alot and if others contribute or comment it helps to get things into perspective

I like it 'cause it helps me release pent-up sexual energy, but there's so much more to these blogs than sex.

I have always loved writing, although I gave it up for many years. It has helped me express myself. To get alot of things that were bottled up inside out. And one of the most important, I have found a great bunch of people that mean alot to me.

I feel a lot better with blogging. It has helped fill in some lonely, quiet nights around here. And it has given me the courage to start writing again. Didn't realize how much I had missed it. Enough so, I'm considering writing new poetry... a lot of new poetry.

Changing my life...you betcha. My family and friends are becomming concerned because I cannot stop reading blogs. I haven't dusted the mantlepiece in two months, and my book reading list is on standby. Too bad I'm not getting paid for this. I sure am devoting a lot of effort into it.

Absolutely, it's helped me change my attitude more than anything else. Writing every day though? I thought about it. Wrote a couple of blogs, more or less spontaneously. The blogs weren't really me though. Maybe it'll get easier over time.

I have not written so much since my University days when I was an English major. The blogs have been important for me in two ways. They have helped me get back in touch with the written word and they have been a way for me to break out from a very private world I lived in around sex. I am thankful for both.

yes, it is fantastic! i have never done the diary thing ... i guess i like having an audience, altho at times it makes me soooo nervous ... it has boosted my confidence as a writer, it has helped me make friends and meet new people, it has helped me let go of negative thoughts once they're expressed in my blog and it has pushed me to really think about my attitude to life ... i also have found it tremendously helpful to read the blogs of others and understand i'm not all alone in the universe...

As usual, here comes my odd question..lol..
And why dont you live this way in real life? Why dont you speak up ur minds out in the open with people?
I am not accusing just merely being curious. Are we worried of people being judgemnetal? If they are they shouldnt be friends (hinting at mzhunyhole incedent and discussion with a "friend")
To my understanding (prepare to read a deep thought now) all those who start throwing labels and names at me are exactly those people who does it in the closet or wish they can do it the way i do, with no inhibitions, but they have NO COURAGE to admit it. To them it is a TABOO (wow, big word here) ...well what the hell...the more taboo it is the more I like it and am drawn to it. (if you only knew how was I brought up..LO

PAP: ASK ME...anal sex..hmmmm \8 LOL

Blogging, and generally internet interaction helps
to slowly merge into the lifes of a large number of
people. In this way, the walls of personal ego may
receed and the mind can become more free to think,
experience, feel, out of its isolation, bringing
down the obstacles of distance, both physical and
mental.

In a gas station the other day, I asked the female attendant to check my lottery ticket for me.
She asked teasingly:"Are you a weenir?"
I smiled, looked at her big breasts and asnwered:"If you are the bun!". She laughed out loud!
that was a good comeback on my part but hey we were talking about a cock and a Tit to go with it..LOL..that was not embaressing at all.
It was fun. we had a good laugh. SO, why hold back.
