Yet More Excitement!

As I'm heading to the garage to change the oil in the ol' car, the ex catches me and asks me if I can take her in to work today. I thought she had the day off. She did too. But the bright sparks ran out of people and called her in, no notice.

They wanted her to come in right away, as if she has no life to just drop on a moment's notice for their mistakes. Which, admittedly, she doesn't. She was just talking to friends online. But she told them it'd take her a couple of hours. I suppose she'll actually shower and such somewhere in that time, so it's not completely unreasable. Serves them right though.

Had my workplace done that to me, I'd have probably told them to shove off. But then I have one hell of a commute.

Oh well. So much for just kicking back and reading a book. I was going to just relax today ... well ... after taking care of the car. Of course I still miss snuggling up to someone while I read. For some reason I just don't read as much as I used to since the breakup. **sigh**

And now I have to actually leave the house. Twice! (Since I'll no doubt have to pick the ex up when work is over.)

On the plus side, yet another successful oil change. Not that it's hard, but when the car has over 200,000 miles on it, you just never know what might fall off.

Or what won't come off without a fight. Darn oil filters! I must have put it on too tight last time.

But the tires have good pressure, the fluids are all topped off, and now the oil filter and oil are shiny new.

I even starting using that oil with additives for old cars. Beats me if the oil will actually do anything, but it was only a couple of bucks extra. The packaging says for after 75,000 miles. Well, I guess 200,000 is after 75,000.
