Getting Downer and Dirtier

It was an entertaining day, helping singleagain53578 move her stuff. There was a certain 'incident' which had me trying hard not to fall over with laughter. But I'll be nice and not name it.

And it amazes me the damage that keeping stuff in storage can do. So much dampness gets into those things. Mold and boxes falling apart. Fun fun.

It makes me dread the day when I have to go through my own crap though. But I really need to. Luckily my stuff is just in my basement.

But you just don't really realize how much stuff you hold on to, that you'll never do anything with, just because. Sentimentality and nostalgia are probably the biggest culprits in the pack rat syndrome. But we have the memories. We don't need the boxes and boxes of stuff to go along with them.

Ah well. Such is life.

Maybe I'll tackle my own spring cleaning this year. Or maybe I'll put it off yet longer. At least for now I have that option.

Yeah thanks for not sharing my phobia. Although I did on my blog, so it wouldn't have mattered. Did you see that I was crying? Actually crying. LOL I am that scared of mice!!!

Thanks for your help. I really do appreciate it! I would still be moving all that if you hadn't of been here to help me.

It was cute. Though I doubt you felt cute at the time...

Actually, I'm kind of that way around wasps. Not quite that bad, but it's a conditioned response to having been bitten and stung by them over and over through the years. I don't know why honey bees, bumble bees, and such are all nice around me, but wasps have to be so mean. I've had eye witnesses where they have actually seen wasps will completely ignore any number of people, but then all of the sudden 'get my scent' and go right after me, and me alone. It's freaky. I say live and let live, but they don't agree. So I don't like them.

Mice on the other hand are so cute and fuzzy and warm and snuggly and soft... So it's funny to see such a reaction. But even still, I can respect a good phobia, and try not to laugh ... too much.

And no prob with the help. That's what friends are for.

I'd offer my help again today, but I doubt you'd need me for much today. And I'm busy. Cleaning, laundry, shopping, cooking a big batch of beef soup/stew for my lunches (should be enough for a couple of weeks if I'm lucky), cooking a big batch of pizza-spaghetti-bake for a week's worth of dinner, doing a lot of dishes, etc. All in all, a busy if not boring day. Hopefully something will be on TV anyway. It takes a while to cut up all of the meat, veggies, and 'fresh' herbs. And then I don't like going too far away while it's actually cooking either. I've had a few boil over mishaps in the past that I'd rather not repeat. So it gets kind of boring making big batches of soup some times. Which is why I do it in big batches. Make enough to last a while...

The house should smell nice when I'm done though.

I can't even begin to imagine a beef and tuna soup. Ugh. Yuckles! Eugh. Blech.
