And So It Begins

Well, sick of this computer, I've put parts to build a new computer onto my credit card. I mean, screw it.

For you computer nuts, here's the basics of what I've ordered:
Case: Athenatech A416BS.400 with 400W PSU
CPU: AMD A64 3000+ S939
Mobo: MSI K8NGM2-NBP with the GF6150 NB
RAM: 2x512MB Corsair Value Select PC3200 CL2.5
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 80GB SATA2 8MB cache
Optical: LITE-ON SHM-165P6S DVD+-RW
OS: WinXP Home OEM

The idea is to use the onboard graphics until I can afford to upgrade. In fact, the whole thing is a reasonable backbone for upgrades, while still being fairly useful now. It's no where near as impressive as my long lost computer, but it's a start.

Now I just have to wait for the parts to get here.

Windows 98? **LOL** No wonder you think a Mac is good.

I suppose at least it wasn't Windows ME.

Nah, seriously, I've tried Mac, but I'm waaaaay too much of a hardware enthusiast to be limited by such a controlled closed system. And I like being able to run any new game that comes out. He he he.
