Reminiscing about the early days of AFF

When this site was started ten years ago, it was geared towards those in the swinger/nudist lifestyle, the type of people who have no issues with nudity. I know this because I was checking out this site when it first started. There were no bloggers pontificating on this issue back then, either, just people who at least seemed much more open-minded than some of the opinions that I'm seeing these days.

If some people on this site are so squeamish or uncomfortable about nudity - particularly full frontal male or female nudity and exposed genitalia - perhaps they should consider leaving this site and going to one intended for "conventional" dating.

I didn't even own a computer ten years ago so I wasn't able to check out this site; didn't even know it existed until I signed on this year. As for logging on to a conventional site...why do that when the majority of fellas are on this site?

Actually, therein lies the dilemma - there are simply too many men on this site, some of whom I daresay make things more difficult by their online and offline antics for men like me, and not nearly enough beautiful and intelligent women such as you. This scenario sort of reminds me of one of those TV nature shows about the mating habits of the walrus, where the males all clamor and tussle across the beach to copulate with a smaller group of females.

I would have to disagree with you. As there are all sorts of people, there are all sorts of swingers and we are all on a different comfort level.

AdultFriendFinder certainly has helped me find myself and become more adventurous in a year's time and each day i get more perverted so I sure as hell would hate to be banned from something because I dont like revealing all.

As long as you refrain from judging, deriding, or complaining about those of who us do reveal all, I have no qualms with whatever your own comfort level is.

I agree with Purry...Sexual people are not necessarily exhibitionists. Another thing...the "conventional dating sites" are all the same people as here. They're all looking for the same thing: the perfect woman with the perfect body that will fuck them like porn stars and won't require a relationship. If they can't find that, then they'll fuck anyone (badly and selfishly) in the meantime.

I joined in late 1998. When I joined, there were only 328 women in NJ on the site. But it wasn't advertized as purely a sex and swingers site as it is now. It was the over 21 sister site of Friend Finder and the ads and the front page said, "The world's biggest site for sex, dating, romance, marriage and swinging." My reaction was, "yeah, like I'd marry anyone I met here."

But it was far more general. These days, you have how many sites leading into this one? It still says something about increasing your chances of finding a soul mate when you upload photos. The FAQ for the site says it isn't purely a sex site. But the difference in the sites I've found leading into this one as to what people are looking for is amazing.

Now, I prefer to see a person's face first. I have no problems with genital shots, unless they're really, really ugly. But those I consider an early warning system. Am I going to post tit or pussy pics? Nope. I don't feel like being informed that someone stole my pics and stuck them on a BBW site. This does happen. People do get their pictures stolen.

Now, you should know, swinger and nudist are not mutual terms. There are family oriented nude beaches. Equating nudity with sex is something purely American. We're taught from an early age our bodies are dirty.

I've always viewed this site as one for people who like sex more than the average person. Not even necessarily more open about sex. Not necessarily open about being naked in the presence of groups, either. The men here aren't. They think the women should be whores willing to do anyone and anything anymore. But ask them to do what they want the women to do and they pitch fits. But that's another subject altogether.
