Two recognitions

I don't know how valid this blog idea is. It's based on two characters, Yul Brynner playing Rameses, and Andrew Dice Clay, the comedian. I like both characters, because in my mind, they represent what I've seen in men.
Although Yul and Andrew are performers, I think their basic "maleness" is relevant. For example, numerous men carry themselves rather regally, which reminds me of Brynner's Rameses. And Clay's attitudes towards women is not singular by any means.
Since stand-up comedy is largely based on irony, it's no wonder that women are viewed so negatively in his routines. On the other hand, it's funny to see how an mysogynistic eye can view the female sex. Luckily, my idea of "manliness" has adjusted with age.

Two recognitions or two solitudes? Somewhere betwixt amass legions of men neither regal nor funny (but certainly ironic).

But we're still fun to play with sometimes, right?
