Working out/ Weight loss ( Do you want to be told you are FAT?)

Well I have started the pain of getting back into shape and trying to get back to where I think I should be. I am tired of carrying around a bag of cement everywhere I go. It gets kind of heavy after a while. It is funny how fast it gets on you but how slowly it leaves. I didn't really notice a difference in myself as it was a gradual increase and I kept doing what I liked to do, But when I got home this time and saw people I hadn't seen in a full yr. they were like wow you put on a little weight didn't you. Which comes to the question do you want to be told you are fat by people you know and are looking out for you or do you want them to lie about it?? I mean you can be tactfull but I would rather be told hey you are starting to get fat so I can nip it in the bud. but now I am behind the 8 ball and a long road to climb.
I started on the 25th at 298 LBS and I would like to reach 220 But would be happy with 240.( would like to be there tommorrow but know that isn't going to happen). That is where my Dr told me I should be for body fat calculations.I am 6-1 1/2, I call myself 6-2. I looked good when I was 220 in the navy and that is what I weighted but that was many yrs ago...lol. I ran 1.2 miles (16 min run/walk)the first day and walked .8 miles. the second day I road my bike 2 miles and walked 1 mile, the 3rd day I walked 2 miles. now on the 4th day I ran the 1.2 miles(15 min run/walk) again and will walk the .8 this evening. and start my cycle again. that gives me a fair amount of rest between each type of exercise. hopefully in a few weeks I will see a difference. I am going to keep a running blog on here just to keep myself going. laters Tim
