There are probably as many Christmas traditions as there are stars in the sky.

Opening presents christmas eve or on Christmas morning. Playing Santa for the kids or not doing the whole Santa thing. Watching the same movie together on Christmas eve every year.

I love to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas eve with the kids and then send them off to bed.

Tell me what Christmas traditions you have or your family has that are sprecial or cherished by you!

My daughter likes to watch "Christmas Vacation" every year.
Shows you she doesn't fall far in warp from her mother, huh?

Christmas Ever was always spent opening presents from the immediate family when I was growing up. For some reason one of those presents was ALWAYS a pair of pajamas. I've carried that over to my daughter. Kind of like you got pajamas, now go to bed! It never quite worked that way though.

Have tongue, will use it. Repeatedly.

I make sure each one of my children has 12 presents to open and the adults always get to open one present on Christmas Eve at midnight.

We always open one present on Christmas. Then we watch a great old movie like Its a Wonderful Life while we sip Eggnog milk shakes, made with the eggnog from an Almish Dairy.....the best ever!

At my house..EVERYONE..gets underwear for Christmas. As the years have gone by, the underwear of course has gotten sexier...thongs for the grown girls....and this year for the grown men too! And this year my two daughters are going to be surprised...or mortified...to find that they have a gift from the Pink Banana, an adult toy store, under the tree!

Trav, have a Merry Christmas with your kids!

For Thanksgiving we had the traditional Turkey and Ham. For Christmas we had whatever meal my father and I decided upon. It was usually a roast, or lasagna, or homemade beef and noodles, or chicken and homemade noodles. This year I asked the girls what they wanted for Christmas dinner and they want turkey and ham. So it is.

Merry Christmas! *soft kiss on the cheek*

We would drive around the nearby neighborhoods, looking at the lights and decorations.

Always great feasting and family getting together..
one way or another...in one state or another...now.
When we are in Houston, we always do Mass on Xmas eve,
open gifts on Xmas morning and do a big extended family
thing later in the afternoon on Xmas day.

Celebration in VA this year looked like Xmas eve at mom's
house...opening gifts then...and Xmas day at my house with
family here now and extended family and friends.

When my daughter was growing up, we always opened
presents on Christmas eve and always went to a couple of
movies on Chrismas day after having a late brunch, always
ate popcorn and did a hang out and play day.

Every year is different although the family, friends, movies,
and feasting one way or another things stay in there somewhere.
So does a Xmas program of one kind or another revolving around
Jesus' birthay

Just a little food for thought.............
If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you...
