On and on the tide rolls in, a constant battering against the rocky beach of my heart. Over and over again, never changing, total and complete, fully absolute, the wheel of time turns and the constant movement against that brittle shore wears thin the protective layer that has kept my enemy at bay. Truth! No, maybe, perhaps, unknown and unsure, I find my heart to be shaken to the core.

The only knowledge I can glean, grasp or handle is the undeniable fact that regardless of circumstance, the overwhelming power of the waves advance across the shore of my heart will eventually break me down. No defense, protective measure or plan will ever be enough. This invariable pounding has the power of millennia and the patience of eons.

Fear may attempt a foot hold upon my heart or assail the ramparts of my spirit, yet I am powerless to stop the constant surge against my already shattered defenses. Fear will be swept away, leaving me caught up in the mysteries of an unknown future and part of a greater plan. The inevitable will occur. No measure of wishing, desiring or hoping will protect my heart from the fact that soon, the overwhelming power of the waves patience will wear me down.

I shall yield and be covered over.

Hope you don't mind but your words inspired me to share...I love the written word and you mastered it well.

Nobody see's me. nobody can
I am the invisible man
I walk through the halls and nobody see's me
Scream through the walls and nobody hears me
I am the invisible man
Nobody see's me, nobody can
Three hundred people, three hundred stares
Three hundred faces, and nobody cares
I am the invisible man
Nobody see's me, nobody can
I look around as I walk
Open my throat and try to talk
It's been so long I forgot how
They look right past me, keep walking now
I am the invisible man
Nobaody see's me, nobody can
Nobody guessed at the gravity
Or knew the depths of my depravity
Early that morning an announcement is made
They gather together the whole seventh grade
An accident took place the other day
We lost a student, her name was May
Starting as a whisper, then becoming loud
A question ripped right through the crowd
The only thing they had to say
Who was this person? Who was this May?
She was the invisible man
Nobody saw her, nobody can
She stepped in front of an oncoming van
And no longer is the invisible man

Pull My Fucking Hair!

And here I was, thinking this was one of the deepest things I'd read on here. Live and learn, I guess...

The Rock of Gibraltar is still there. The sands of the Sahara Desert still blow and shift. And McDonald's Golden Arches will be there when you are 80! Quit belly-aching!
