Are all people thoughtless?

Yesterday I was driving from Florence SC to Augusta GA, on I 20 I passed a car that was up against the safety cables heading east, now I was going west. I looked over at the car as I passed and saw someone sitting in the front driver side seat.

I pointed it out to the guy thats working with me and started trying to find a place to turn around.

7 miles up the road we got to an exit, turned around and headed back. As I pulled up to the car I saw that there was in fact a person in the front seat.

I got out and ran over to the car and saw that this person was a woman who was rather large.

I asked if she was OK and she said she was.
however she could not get out of the car.

The driver side was was up against the guard cable and the car had bucket seat with a large console in between them.

The passenger side door was jammed shut.

I got a crow bar from my truck and got the door open and helped her across the seat to get out.

By this time I had been there for 10 min or so. My co-worker had called the police as soon as we got there.

I asked her what happened and she said she had a blow out and lost control of her car.

I asked how long ago it had happened, she said about 45 min and that she had been sitting there praying someone would stop.

10 min later the police got there.

Now my problem is this, this happened on a major interstate during the daytime. Somebody had to have seen her wreck, at least 500 cars and trucks had passed in each direction from the time of the crash until I got there, how come no one else stopped?

I hope that if I or any of you are ever in the situation that this lady found herself in that some one will have the human kindness to stop and help.

I drive 100,000 miles or so a year, I stop about 5 times a week to help out with a flat tire or someone out of gas or whatever, I do this because its how we are supposed to treat one another and because I hope that people will be kinder to one another.

I do stop
and my friends and family keep telling me that I shouldn't
but I do
I always try to put myself in anothers place and
try to do what I want done!

It's good to hear there are still heros like yourself out there!
Continue the good deeds...
none will go unturned!

Thanks for your post...
