Happy what?

So it's the holidays. Huzzah! Everyone in love with their fellow human. Ha! You wish.
There was recently an ice storm where I live.
Life being what it is, I nearly broke my toe.
You would think, in this giving and caring season, people might show some deference for some one on crutches. NO CHANCE BUDDY! I was pushed out of the way, stepped on, knocked over
and just try to get a parking spot without a "handy-capable" sticker.
The only light I saw during my time be-crutched, was one wonderful lady with two lovely kids that helped me push my grocery basket to my car. I thought, well maybe those two kids might grow up better than the other louts I encountered recently. Clerks, cashiers and other business owners weren't nearly as helpful as one woman showing by example how a little kindness for kindness sake can make the world a better place.
It's not curing cancer or ending world hunger but it was just enough to make my day.

I AM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR TOE.. BUT NEEDLESS TO SAY WHAT U HAVE JUST ENCOUNTERED IS AN EVERYDAY THING TO THOSE WITH DISABILITIES. I WORK IN THE INDUSTRY AND I ALSO HAVE A CHILD THAT IS IN A WHEELCHAIR AND NEEDLESS TO SAY PEOPLE ARE RUDE ESPECIALLY DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON IT IS LIKE THEY ARE IN SUCH A HURRY THEY DON'T LOOK DOWN TO NOTICE THAT CHILD IN THE CHAIR THAT MIGHT BE LOOKING UP SMILING. I HAVE LEARNED TO APPRECIATE THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE AND I DO TAKE TIME TO STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES OR LISTEN FOR A SOUND THAT SOMEONE MIGHT NOT HEAR,, WELL I HAVE RAMBLED ON AND ON. TAKE CARE AND GO IN WITH ATTITUDE AND THEY WILL RESPECT U AT LEAST.
