Bad Toys For Bad Boys!

Guess what people? I'm getting ready to get my driver's license back really soon! Woohoo! This means that I'll be getting a car as well. I've already decided what kind that I want. It's an 88' Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS!

I have always loved Monte Carlo's, as a matter of fact my first car was a 72' Monte Carlo. It was red with a black vinyl top and black interior. I drove that fucker till the body started separating from the frame so I ended up junking it. I have many fond memories of this old car and still have a few pics of it too.

I was gonna buy a Monte SS back in October but I didn't have my license at the time. I was gonna store it in my mom's garage till I got my license back but didn't know how long it would take to get it back. Letting a car sit is one of the worst things that you can do to one. They start to leak from just about every gasket after a while and the brakes often go out too after a while. I wasn't about to treat one of these beautiful cars theis way and watch it rot away.

I can buy one of these locally for around $3k to about $6k but I am willing to pay around $7500 is it's in garage kept condition. I don't care much for the factory mags, I'll probably swap them for a set of Centerline's or some 8" Corvette Rally's with the short caps. Next I'll probably install a high powered Kenwood system with a CD changer like I used to have in my Supra.

You can only use up to 35% Limosine tint in the state off Va. unless you have a Dr's statement saying you need more. Sunlight kills my eyes and gives me bad headaches so I think I'll get the Dr's note and go with 50% tint. Anymore than that and you can't see out of the fucking windows.

In a few years I'll be able to get the 'Classic Car' tags and no longer need to get it state inspected again. At this point I think I'll pull the small block engine out and either drop in an old Corvette 427 C.I.D. big block or a 502 C.I.D. H.O. engine. Next I'll replace the automatic transmission with a racing 5-speed manual transmission and a 12 bolt rear end with a 4:56 gear ratio.

The interior on these things is pretty nice but I might swap the factory gauges with some aftermarket Auto-Meter gauges that light up red. A 6-point roll cage would also be a nice touch.

I'd like to also drop the chassis about 1 inch front to back and replace the suspension, bushings and brakes with after market performance ones too.

Anyhow, if you happen to be passing through my area and see a black Monte SS pulled over with cops behind it and the driver getting arrested then that's probably gonna be me!

I am a Ford girl myself, but you stay out of trouble Timber....don't loose it again.

However, have fun and enjoy your new found freedom of driving! I love just to get in a car and manual cars the best!

When I had my Mustang, I burned up more gas just driving....miss that car!

My brother used to have Monte Carlo SS, too...but I forgot what year. That's great that you'll get your driver license back soon. And stay out of trouble, lol Good luck with getting the car.

The first car my brother bought was a monte carlo.. It was gold and I just loved it.

Later on my mom got an old one and I used that to learn on. They were nice cars.

Hope you find what your looking for. Thank you for stopping by my blog.

I traded my monte in and got a ford windstar. My first car was a mercury bobcat. I loved that car!

How exciting for you!!! I can't wait to read more about it as you start going to work on it! I think it's so cool you can do all that work and really make it your car personalizing it that way!

You made me think about my Jimmy that's been in the garage now for three months waiting for me to take it to the shop and tend to it. I need to get on it or I'm going to have all those gasket and other problems you talked about. Yikes!!!

I had a friend who had a Monte Carlo and it was really tough. I don't know how tricked out it was in comparison to what your talking about, but it was one kick ass vehicle!!!

Congratulations on getting your license back soon you sexy sweetie!!!
