What lies do to us

On a TV show the other night there was a line that said "a clueless woman is a happy woman". They had been talking about lying and this was the line that Charlie Sheen gave for the answer as to why men lie to women. After thinking about this answer......and it did make sense, but after being lied to by a man for months, and knowing he was lying but just not able to point it out and make it stick, this line really pissed me off. Some untruths do make sense so we don't hurt others, but if a man is interested in someone else, then why do they lie about it? That is what I don't understand. It makes us women feel stupid and degraded to be told lies about that. If a guy is interested in someone else or is looking for someone else...tell the woman in your life, so that she can make sense of everything and not think SHE is the crazy one. Most of us in here are old enough adults and have lived through bad things happening to us, or we wouldn't be here in the first place. Guys....just be honest and it sure will get you farther...telling the truth doesn't mean you have to lose a friend, and that is all lying gets you. You must have liked that person in the first place to make contact with her, and telling her the truth make just make things better or at the very least she might just be your confidant. I think women take lies different than men. Most women like to think the best of somebody, and when they aren't trusted enough to handle the truth it makes us feel stupid, and is that how you want a woman that you supposedly cared about enough to have sex with to feel? I really need some input here, I would love to know what goes on inside a guys mind and the reasons that he lies to a woman, so that I don't lose my mind over this guy that I know cares about me, but can't quit lying. Anyone wanna comment on this?

Thunder--yes, in the past have told several lies; however, from experience of trying to cover up and then having to explain, have learned that the only way for a relationship to be successful is to be honest at the beginning. This is strictly coming for a man that has been there and will not go there again.
